VidyoWay™ Provides Free Virtual MCU for Polycom, Cisco/Tandberg,
LifeSize and Microsoft Lync Endpoints

Hackensack, NJ – JULY 23, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the world’s fastest-growing video conferencing company, today announced another revolutionary leap forward to make business-to-business video communications universally available. The VidyoWay™ service is the first free interconnectivity service to support multi-vendor, business quality video conferencing for multi-party or point-to-point meetings. Using a simple, self-service, executive-friendly interface, VidyoWay connects Cisco®, Polycom®, Lifesize®, other H.323 and SIP-based room systems, Microsoft® Lync® clients, mobile devices and telephones.

VidyoWay addresses the need for interconnectivity among legacy and UC business solutions without the high costs and complexities encountered by end users today. The VidyoWay service creates a business community of video conferencing users, regardless of their end-points, through a free, cloud-based meeting place that extends the reach of video conferencing beyond specialized rooms or limitations of user location or technology compatibility. By enabling the utilization of video conferencing beyond the business boundaries and making B2B video conferencing as accessible and easy to use as audio conferencing, VidyoWay will drive rapid market growth through a network effect created by increased usage that will complement and accelerate VidyoConferencing platform sales. Companies interested in receiving an invitation for the service are requested to apply on Vidyo’s website. To see a demonstration of VidyoWay click here.

“Widespread video conferencing adoption has, to date, been inhibited by low-quality user experiences, high costs and manual connection processes,” said Ofer Shapiro, CEO and co-founder at Vidyo. “The business process to achieve interconnectivity is very costly and cumbersome. VidyoWay provides true free connectivity to legacy systems through a free conference room in the sky.”

“Multivendor interoperability is a real pain point in the video conferencing industry. Interconnecting video conferencing systems that businesses have deployed is certainly possible, but is often both complicated and expensive,” said Brian Riggs, research director at Current Analysis. “A service like VidyoWay should have considerable appeal among companies seeking a straightforward way to make video communication as commonplace as telephone calls, at no cost to the end user. Vidyo continues to dramatically change the economics of B2B video conferencing.”

VidyoWay also removes another interconnectivity barrier, the need for a Global Directory of video endpoints, by creating a community of users who can simply invite participants from their own address book to a secure virtual meeting place. Using a “Click-to-Connect” capability, colleagues or customers can instantly join calls from legacy systems, UC devices or VidyoConferencing solutions. For users who don’t have access to business video communications solutions, VidyoWay provides a free mobile client for tablets and smartphones.

“VidyoWay adds significant value to VidyoConferencing deployments by creating the ’network effect,’ expanding the universe of business-to-business contacts who can connect via a simple-to-use interconnectivity service that supports seamless interoperability with legacy H.323 and SIP, MS Lync and voice only endpoints,” said Shapiro. “At the same time, our resellers and service providers will continue to offer the disruptive full capabilities of our VidyoConferencing system from telepresence through desktop to mobile, while allowing their customers to also enjoy free connectivity to the VidyoWay network.”

The Vidyo Difference

The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs. The VidyoRouter™ is based on the company’s patented Adaptive Video Layering architecture and leverages H.264 Scalable Video Coding (SVC)-based technology. It eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency, low latency and rate matching enabling natural, affordable, high quality video to work over the Internet, LTE, 3G and 4G networks. The Vidyo platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since 2005.

Software Platform Accelerates at the Rate of Innovation, Continues to Lead Market Price Points

Hackensack, NJ – JULY 9, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the world’s fastest-growing video conferencing company, today demonstrated the ability to deliver five megapixel immersive, multipoint Vidyo conferences with data collaboration on the new MacBook® Pro from Apple®. With the ability to render a mix of 1080p and 720p video streams, and up to 5MP data share for an aggregate maximum of 5 megapixels, Vidyo’s software is able to deliver 2.5 times the pixel count of hardware telepresence systems on Apple’s latest device. Vidyo continues to power innovation in video conferencing at a velocity that cannot be matched by hardware-based solution providers, enabling Vidyo partners to automatically benefit from computer innovations and new form factors as they are brought to market, riding the cost and performance curves of the high-volume computer industry.

“While legacy telepresence platforms require redesign and fork-lift upgrades to take advantage of evolving technology, Vidyo’s software-based platform affords the flexibility to capitalize on new, off the shelf hardware, like the MacBook Pro with Retina™ Display, proving our ability to benefit from Moore’s Law,” said Vidyo co-founder and CEO, Ofer Shapiro. “Customers have come to expect technology that keeps pace with the emergence of new form factors in an effective and affordable way; Vidyo is the only company that consistently delivers on end-user expectations.”

The demonstration on the new MacBook Pro highlights the extensibility of Vidyo’s architecture to incorporate collaboration based on the capability of each individual end point – all on the same Vidyo Infrastructure. Vidyo’s unmatched flexibility was similarly highlighted by the company’s latest collaboration with imaging solutions provider Barco, demonstrating the first 4K immersive video conferencing and collaboration system at InfoComm in June. Vidyo also recently announced HD quality, low-latency video conferencing for the new iPad with the first 3 Megapixel content share on the mobile form factor.

By delivering unmatched quality at disruptive price points using general purpose devices over ubiquitous networks like the Internet and wide area wireless, Vidyo’s platform has become the engine for change in many industries such as healthcare, education, manufacturing and government.

“Vidyo allows ASU students and faculty to participate and collaborate in high quality Vidyo conferences with researches in remote locations”, said Charles Kazilek, Assistant Dean of Technology, Media and Communications, with ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. “Our ability to share high resolution data via multiple devices, including laptop or desktop PCs or Macs, is critical for our Desert to Rainforest project in Panama and beyond. Vidyo’s platform support for the new MacBook Pro and its exceptional video quality will open the door even further and expand our visual collaboration, allowing students, faculty and researchers to continue to move beyond the classroom walls.”

Vidyo’s Adaptive Video Layering™ technology enables more capable endpoints like the new MacBook Pro to participate in multi-point conferences with lesser performing endpoints, such as traditional telepresence systems, with each receiving dynamically optimized video and audio experiences throughout the conference, based upon the unique and changing capabilities of that end point and its network connection.

Vidyo demonstrates a mix of 1080p and 720p HD streams and content share for an aggregate maximum of five megapixels on Apple’s new MacBook Pro.

Integrated Solution Comprises Mitel UC Portfolio and Vidyo Platform on VMware Virtual Machines and Delivers Unprecedented Value to SMBs

Hackensack, NJ – June 20, 2012 — Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced a partnership with Mitel, a global provider of business communications and collaboration software and services. The companies will deliver a comprehensive integration of Vidyo’s leading HD, multipoint video communications solution for desktop, mobile, room communications with Mitel’s industry leading Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) offering. The integrated solution will be demonstrated at Mitel’s Business Partner Conference, from June 19 – 21, in San Diego, at Mitel’s Booth # 412 and Vidyo’s Booth # 232.

“According to research conducted by VMware and Canalys, SMB adoption of virtualized solutions is expected to increase two-fold by 2014, positioning Mitel and Vidyo well in the market as we will deliver rich integrated applications on a common virtualization framework,” said Ashish Gupta, Vidyo’s CMO and SVP Corporate Development. “The virtualized Mitel-Vidyo offering will give SMBs unprecedented choice, delivering unmatched quality, reach and savings to customers looking to deploy on-demand unified communications and visual collaboration solutions on their desktops, mobile devices and conference rooms at a fraction of the cost of legacy video conferencing solutions.”

The SMB segment has been underserved by traditional video conferencing solutions that require proprietary hardware and are restricted by the MCU-based architecture. These legacy solutions are typically too costly for SMB budgets and are challenging to deploy and maintain. Vidyo’s industry-leading architecture has disrupted the market to deliver a high quality, highly scalable solution that provides seamless interoperability with legacy solutions. The integrated solution from Mitel and Vidyo will provide SMB customers with a UC-aware personal telepresence solution that is both economically and technologically well-suited for this market’s needs.

“Delivering high-definition video conferencing that can provide an integrated collaboration experience with Mitel’s UC solution is a priority for our partners and customers looking to increase collaboration and efficiency,” said Stephen Beamish, Mitel Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “Vidyo delivers a virtualized video solution that meshes perfectly with our vision of an integrated UC platform and, when combined with Mitel UC, will provide our customers with the freedom to select high quality video applications without traditional limitations.”

Mitel is a leading provider of Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) software solutions. Mitel’s Freedom architecture provides the flexibility and simplicity organizations need to support today’s dynamic work environment. Through a single cloud-ready software stream, Mitel delivers a powerful suite of advanced communications and collaboration capabilities that provides freedom from walled garden architectures and enables organizations to implement best-of-breed solutions on any network; extends the “in-office” experience anywhere, on any device; and offers choice of commercial options to fit business needs.

InfoComm, Las Vegas – June 13, 2012 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, and Barco, a pioneer in visualization technology, today announced that a joint effort to integrate Vidyo’s award-winning software-based video communications platform with Barco’s innovative imaging solutions is on display at InfoComm 2012.

This week, the companies are unveiling a technology demonstration which conveys the integration of these two platforms: the first 4K immersive video conferencing and collaboration system. The integrated solution offers unprecedented flexibility, multi-modal content display capabilities, with richmulti-pointHDvideo communications. The system enables flexible layouts on a single screen and displays up to 16 high quality streams totaling 8 mega pixels – including ultra-high resolution data sharing up to 3 megapixels . Barco’s complete 140” virtual canvas offers this unlimited layout flexibility at the highest resolution for participants, content or both on the same screen. The demonstration will take place at InfoComm 2012 in Las Vegas, June 13 – 16, Booth # N2721.

Barco, a global technology company, designs and develops enterprise visualization solutions that optimize productivity, encourage team collaboration and enhance business efficiency. “Barco prides itself in having the best display and presentation technologies and has always believed that networked video collaboration capabilities would add huge value to our platform,” said Hans Dekeyser, Barco’s Vice President Enterprise Visualization North America.

“The demonstration of the Vidyo and Barco platforms at InfoComm is a unique opportunity to see what is possible when ‘best of breed’ innovations come together,” said Amir Shaked, Vidyo’s SVP of Product Management. “Currently the choice is between hugely expensive telepresence systems or lesser-quality, hard-to-use video conference rooms. We are setting a new standard in terms of telepresence quality, flexibility and price point that create new markets unaddressable by legacy technologies.

The Vidyo Difference

The Vidyo communication and collaboration platform is software-based, highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and vertical market video conferencing needs. The patented VidyoRouter™ architecture introduces Adaptive Video Layering™, which dynamically optimizes the video for each endpoint leveraging H.264 Scalable Video Coding (SVC)-based compression technology and Vidyo’s IP. Adaptive Video Layering eliminates the MCU and offers unprecedented error resiliency and low latency rate matching, thus enabling natural, affordable, high-quality video to work over the Internet, LTE and 4G networks. The platform allows users to quickly leverage the latest hardware innovations and new consumer devices, making it uniquely attractive to partners. Vidyo has been active driving H.264 SVC and SIP videoconferencing interoperability in various standards bodies since 2005.
